What is Commit to Quit?

Listen, we’ve been there. Quitting smoking or using tobacco products, including e-cigarettes is hard. Quitting takes serious commitment and there’s nothing more frustrating than everyone else trying to tell you how to do it.

Commit to Quit is about providing you with the tools to help you quit smoking when you’re ready, on your own terms. This is your decision, we’re just here to help you succeed.

Access Services for Free

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I don’t have insurance coverage?

If you are uninsured or your insurance does not cover the program, you are still eligible to sign up and use all of the services to help you quit smoking. DPH obtains funding that covers the cost of these services from sources such as the Tobacco and Health Trust Fund and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.

What cessation medications are offered?

Commit to Quit will continue to support you as long as it takes. Currently, we are offering eight weeks of nicotine replacement therapy (NRT). After eight weeks, you are welcome to get more NRT on your own, but most people don’t need more than eight weeks. We will never try to sell you more or charge you anything after the eight weeks – we don’t sell anything. Many people already have insurance coverage for these medications – check with your insurance company to see what additional benefits may be offered to you.

What kind of services do I receive for enrolling?

When you enroll, you will receive free coaching sessions with a Quit Coach; a personalized Quit Plan; a Quit Guide; 24/7 access to Quit Coaches via phone and text; eight weeks of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products at no cost; email as well as chat support; and referral to an in-person cessation program if requested.

Are the cessation support tools available for any tobacco product?

Yes. The program helps with cigarettes, cigars, chew, dip, vapes, and any other tobacco products that someone wants to quit.

What if I prefer to attend classes or sessions in person?

There are face-to-face quit smoking programs available in some areas for either no or low-cost. Follow this link to see the options:

What happens if I have a slip up?

We get it, slip-ups happen. A slip-up doesn’t get you removed from the program. You still have access to all of the services and can talk to your Quit Coach. Don’t let a slip-up derail your progress. Instead, contact your coach and work together to figure out what caused the relapse, and how to avoid it in the future.

Will I be able to talk to the same Quit Coach each time?

We will do our best to connect you with the same Quit Coach each time. You can always request the same person, but we can’t guarantee the same coach because they could be on the line with another person when you call, or may not be working at the time you call.

May I enroll in the program if I participated in the past?

Once you’ve joined the program, you’re in it for as long as you want to be. You can either log back into your existing account or create a new user account.

Get support. That’s what we are here for.
